MVS *Week 2* Clean & Simple & *Week 3* Tie that Sketch

Please accept my apologies for the late post of last weeks challenge. I am convinced that there is something going on with this new computer and blogger. I tried for about two hours Last Sunday afternoon to upload and then again in the evening,
Anyway here it is finally. I am well and truly flowing with the Christmas cards now so I am probably best avoided if you are fed up with them already. Normally I make most of them during the summer holidays so by this time of year I am totally sick of them!

I Used:
Paper- DCWV
Cardstock - Papermania
Flowers and Leaves - Prima
Prismacolor pencils

**************************

Moving on to this weeks challenge, I was delighted to find my Magnolia stamp club kit lying on the door mat this week and couldn't resist using it. This sketch is very much suited to using a DL card, only I didn't have any so made my own to my own dimensions and the envelope is to come.
I Used:
Paper - Basic Grey
Cardstock - Papermill Shop
Wire Sentiment - Papermania
Rub on - Paprmania
Glitter
Distress Inks
Copic markers - There are some available for the prize this week so do check out the blog to get your hands on some

Magnolia Vs Stampavie Challenge Blog Week 1

Oh my goodness, so here we are, a different challenge blog and a super duper design team (I can't believe that I even made it on this one) I am so going to miss the design teams from Tilda and Sarah Kay though. I never find enough time to blog hop anymore but I really hope to look in on you all as I will miss your work terribly.

This is my piece for this weeks wonderful sketch by Jay Jay. Such a great layout and fabulous for concertina cards (which mine was going to be until I changed it at the last minute).

I used the X-cut shape cutter to make the curve, embossed and inked this before folding. The image was coloured using Prismacolors and cut out using nestabilities. I have added tiny amounts of stickles to the dots on the paper and some of the flowers. The edges of the paper were inked using distress inks.

Materials:
Paper - Basic Gray
Cardstock - Bazzill
Stamp - Rachelle Anne Miller - Playtime
Ribbon - Poppicrafts
Flowers - Prima
Brads - Queen & Co

Magnolia Vs Stampavie...plus Candy to be won!

We have some exciting and sad news...
The sad news is Tilda & Co / Sarah Kay Challenges are no more, unfortunately there has had to be some changes. Donna has needed to merge both the blogs together to free some time up for herself.
The good news is we have a brand new challenge blog Magnolia Vs Stampavie. We hope you will join in the challenge each Sunday (as before) The blog is now partnered with Stampaive so you can use Magnolia Stamps, Sarah Kay Stamps and any other stamp made by Stampaive including the ever so lovely Rachelle Anne Miller Designs (these must be the ones made for Stampavie – check out the list on the challenge blog if you're not sure which stamps can be used). The blog will go live on Sunday with the first challenge on Sunday.
Donna has given us some fab Blog Candy for each DT member to give out which she has kindly donated from her craft store Crafty Krafts

So you like what you see in the photo? Want to get your hands on this yummy candy? This is what you need to do:
Firstly please only enter one candy draw – there are 5 DT members and 5 lots of Candy up for grabs, but only one entry per person. The candy is open to all, and Donna will post worldwide. You have until Saturday 1st November 10pm to enter.
1. Place a link to the new Blog on your blog, you can grab a Logo here
2. Post about the new challenge blog on your blog and link to it
3. Leave a comment on the new challenge blog with a link to your post and mention which DT candy you have entered.
Each candy is different so it's important to state which draw you have entered. Donna will then use a random number counter on Sunday and go through all the Designers blog comments and choose one winner from all the entries on that blog. We are looking forward to you joining in with the challenges on the new blog.

PTW Katharina's Sketch #13

Over at PTW this week the challenge is to follow another of Katherina's wonderful sketches. I am still behind with my Christmas cards and seized the opportunity. These are the new papers from DCWV. I am slightly disappointed with this years Christmas stacks. The colours seem to be a bit washed out and dull. Not what I usually expect from DCWV.

I Used:
Paper - DCWV
Cardstock - Papermania
Brads - Papermania
Snowman Stamp - Sugar Nellie - Home Grown
Sentiment Stamps - Stamps Away

Tilda & Co challenge 40 ~Tabbed Sketch~

Over at the Tilda & Co challenge blog this week there is a fab sketch to follow. Here is my take.

I just have to mention that I bought a mystery box of crafting goodies from Crafty Krafts the other day and I recommend that you buy one, so many beautiful products at an unbelievable price!
I Used:

Cardstock - Papermania
Rub Ons- Out of my mystery box from Crafty Krafts
Clip - Making Memories

Sarah Kay challenge *Week 15* Doodles

The challenge on the Sarah Kay blog this week is to include some doodling on your project (not really a forte of mine). I thought that I would make a monochrome card this week as I haven't made one in ages.Apologies for the complete lack of posts, my old computer finally gave up the ghost. Panic doesn't even come close to describing it. I am in utter disarray. I have all my addresses, pictures, watermarks and url's still on the old hard-drive. I am not used to this operating system or the flatscreen monitor. Hopefully I will get there.

I used:
Paper - DCWV
Cardstock - Bazzill
Flowers - Poppicrafts
Buttons- Local Craft Shop
Hearts - Making Memories

Tilda & Co Challenge 38, Use a sketch

This is my Tilda and Co card for this week where we had to follow a sketch.

I have totally run out of thank you cards so under the watermark is a thank you sticker.

Sarah Kay Challenge *Week 13* True Blue

The theme for the Sarah Kay Challenge blog this week is *True Blue*. What with the daily battle of trying to get my Daughter settled in college I am so behind with everything. Normally I have all my Christmas cards made by the end of September, this year I have three so I thought that I would take the opportunity to make another..

The paper is from Dovecraft, flowers are Bazzill Bling, Cardstock Bazzill, the brads I can't remember and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts.

Tilda & Co ~Challenge 37~ On A Budget

The theme this week on the Tilda & Co blog is ~On A Budget~. Great challenge this one for getting the old grey matter working and actually thinking about how much our hobby costs, and that you don't have to throw loads of money at a project to get a fantastic end piece...don't believe me??? Check out the awesome creations from the DT this week!

Here's the break down of what I used and how much it totalled.
Cardstock - Papermania - 1/2 a sheet = 15p
Papers- K&Co - 2 sheets = 14p
Buttons - local needlecraft shop = 16p
Glitter Glue - Craft Tonic = 2p
Recycled Ribbon = 1p
Foam waste from sticky dots = 1p
Total cost = 49p

Sarah Kay Challenge *Week 12* Creative CD Cases

The week on the Sarah Kay blog the challenge is *Creative CD Cases*.
I went into slight panic, no-one wants to see how I store my Nestabilities, I have some calendar cases lying around left over from storing clear stamps when I only had a few. I really wanted to use one of those neat little tins that bands chuck out as promos because I have decorated SO many plastic cd cases.
A plain metal case cries out to be altered, out came the good old black spray paint which I thought would look fab if it was dry brushed with silver. Then I had a complete nutty notion to use hot foil but my poor old foil pen just couldn't cope with the size of the tin so I reach for the iron! It wasn't the best idea that I'd ever had, the iron burnt the spray paint! I am so glad that you're unable to smell my project (actually it's fine now but the stench of burning plastic was overwhelming, don't try this at home kiddies). The idea I think would have worked had I not used the spray paint. The tin was gloss lacquered to protect the foil.
Anyway, this little tin come with a foam self adhesive insert which I though would be perfect to poke earrings into as a stocking filler.

Cute Card Thursday *Food*

The theme this week over at CCT is Food so I thought that I would dig out one of my favourite House Mouse stamps (it has nothing to do with me loving doughnuts!). I also took delivery of my new Copic Markers yesterday so it's only natural that I used them to colour this image. Generally I tend to colour like a toddler with pens so this was a huge, risky investment for me but I am quite pleased with the results.
I used:
Paper - K&CO
Cardstock - Bazzill
Flowers - Prima
Brad - Papermania
Ribbon - Poppicrafts

PTW challenge Katharina's Sketch #11

With my eldest Daughter at college and the youngest at school I found some time to actually take part in the PTW challenge where the challenge was to follow another of Katharina's wonderful sketches. I also indulged in some retail therapy but you'll have to watch this space to see if I made the right decision or not! I have promised myself that I will master (or should that be try) a new technique within a month. I have been distressing papers for a while but normally with chalk or chalk based inks, but this month I have decided that I really should get more out of my distress ink pads so this is what I'm trying here.
This card uses one of the new stamps from Kadoodle, little Leo, he is just so adoreable. The papers are Basic Grey, the buttons and ribbons are from my stash. Little Leo has been coloured using a mixture of Prismacolors and H2o's.

~Tilda & Co Challenge 36~ Chocolate Delight

The theme today on the Tilda & Co blog is chocolate, pink and white. I went for a collection of cards in a mini pizza style box. These are to say "Thank You" to my Aunt for the gifts that she brought us all back from her trip to Australia.

I Used:
Cardstock - Papermania & Bazzill
Paper - Printed on the PC
Tags- Nestabilities
Ribbon - Stash

Sarah Kay *Week 11* Trio of Papers

This week on the Sarah Kay Challenge blog the theme was a "Trio of Papers" wjere we had to use three patterned/designer papers. I really love the feel of this card, it's not my usual style but I think it works. I'm not really sure why the blue on the image is showing as a different tone to that of the papers, photography isn't my forte I'm afraid.

I Used:
Paper- K&Co
Cardstock - Papermania
Flowers - Prima
Brads - Queen&Co
Ribbon - Poppicrafts
Buttons - Crafty Crafts
Sentiment - Making Memories

No Internet Connection.

Apologies again for not being around, my back is feeling completely better now but my internet connection went down...typical!

Tomorrow I will be late posting my Tilda & Co and Sarah Kay DT challenge blog cards as I will be at The Craft Barn (train at 6.30am to arrive at 9.15am....eek!) but I am really looking forward to the day.

Oh and the new Kadoodle designs are out so I had a play. Isabelle is so thoughtful, she sent mine and my Hubby's zodiac signs with my DT kit. I adore them both. The papers are Basic Grey, the cardstock is Core'dinations (Cuttlebug embossed) & Bazzill, The sentiment is Craftworks and I made the faux buttons using Nestabilities & an eyelet tool. All items on this card are available from the Craft Barn.
I hope that you check back tomorrow evening to see the Tilda and Sarah Kay cards.

Tilda & Co Challenge

I'm so sorry for the delay in posting my Tilda & Co work. I have had a very intense week, anyway here is last weeks embossing challenge piece.
And moving swiftly on to this weeks challenge where the theme is envelope art. This is a pockelope! I love these as they have three pockets for you to stash tiny goodies and send to your friends.
I have used K&Co double sided 12 x 12 paper to create the pockelope. The tag is made using nestabilities and I have just layered up a couple of prima flowers to hide the join.
On the reverse of the tag I have used a stamp from Catslife Press rubber stamp company. I do like their seals and altered art stamps very much.

New Designs From Kadoodle

These are the latest addition to the Kadoodle range from The Craft Barn.
Aren't they just adorable? My favourite is the Leo stamp but then it would be as that is my zodiac sign. Hubby is a Cancerian so that one is in my virtual basket too lol.

Tilda & Co ~Week 33~ "Hands"

On the Tilda & Co challenge blog this week we were asked to make a matching project and card that both feature "hands"...eek...I thought!!! Then I remembered that Donna sent me a wonderful charm in a DT kit which I hadn't got around to using.

Then I put my back out and I had a missing parcel that I really wanted to complete my matching project as this week we had an "extra" DT challenge...Arrhhhh I hate it when things work against you!

Anyway, here is my card with the hand charm. The papers are K&Co, the flowers are Prima & Papermania, the brads are from Papermania, the sentiment was made using the Around The Block Label Writer.

Here is my matching project, made using the contents of my missing parcel, papers etc are the same as on my card. All the images were stamped onto a single piece of card as I needed to be wary of making it too thick for the mechanism so I had much fun with the masking off.

The clock is for my two girls' shared bedroom so the colour scheme was not of my choosing (strictly no pink!!!). I am liking this so much I am thinking of making one for myself with my chosen colours!

Sarah Kay Challenge *Week 8* Sketch

This week on the Sarah Kay Challenge blog we had to follow the sketch below. For a change I went for a 5" x 5" card (normally I favour 6" x 6") but unfortunately I messed up the image. By the time I realised I'd made a mistake I'd put my back out (hence no other cards from me for a week) and I can't face correcting my errors.
I Used:
Papers - Making Memories
Cardstock - Papermill shop & Scrapbox
Flowers - Prima
Brads - Poppicrafts & Papermania
Clip - Making Memories

Sarah Kay *Week 7* "How Charming?"

*Week 7 How Charming* Sarah Kay Challenge
This week we would like your work to include charms, pendants or dangles.
I chose to use gold charms along with a blue and brown colour combination, the only problem was that I didn't have any gold charms so had to get busy with the spray paint lol.
I Used:
Paper - K&Co & Papermill
Cardstock - Papermania
Flowers - Prima
Brads - Queen & CO
Ribbon - Poppicrafts

Tilda & Co Challenge 32 "Cold as Ice"

*Challenge 32* Cold as ice...Tilda & Co
The sun is now drifting away very fast and soon it will be as cold as ice....
Using the colours Blue & white Only . Show us how cold your projects can feel this week.
Please remember your work must include at least one Magnolia image.

I was totally stumped with this one so sorry it's another Christmas card but the snowman was all I could think of.

I Used;
Paper - DCWV
Cardstock - DCWV & Papermill
Stickers - Papermania
