Challenge Ismaki #17

Ribbon - Poppicrafts
Eyelets - Stash
Wire - Stash

Where is my mail?

The postman has spent all week avoiding me, ok so I was down at the same pub as him on Saturday night. I did say hi, I didn't get drunk (that happened later at the night club where Hubby and I drank ourselves through far too much money) I can remember everything and we didn't even have hangovers...so why is he not bringing me any post?

I want my Magnolia stampclub package, some Magnolia's from a site I have never used before, Do Crafts are sending me something to make a card for their next mag (hope it's Basic Grey or Doodlebug!) and Hubby is waiting for some shields. Oh the agony!!!

Anyway, this was meant to be a post about this card, not a rant. This is my entry for My Paper World sketch #9 and for Papertake Weekly

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 7 "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"

This is my entry for the Cute Card Thursday challenge. The theme this week is "Girls just wanna have fun".

I really wanted to avoid pink after my last card so I decided to go with this paper from DCWV. It has a salmon tone to it so I wondered if I could tie in some orange also...I think that I have just about pulled it off.

I'm not too happy with Tilda. I find anything from the yellow and orange pallette really hard.

I Used:
Paper - DCWV
Cardstock - Papermill
Ribbon - Papermania
Brad & Eyelets - Papermania
Flower - Prima
Stamp - Magnolia (oops seem to be on a phase with them at the mo)

Papertake Weekly Katharina's Sketch #2

This is my take on the wonderful sketch challenge from Katharina at PTW.

I love working from sketches (as I think I've mentioned a few times now) but this was an absolute dream to work from.

This card is going to be sent to someone on the Do Crafts forum to say thank you for all the wonderful Penny Black challenges. If you know who I'm talking about, please don't let on because as far as I'm aware she doesn't visit my blog (if you do Samantha, fess up now! lol)

Arty Girlz Challenge #30 'Ribbons'

Although I have had quite a busy day I did find the time to make my 16 year old daughter a notebook (because she saw my Tilda notebook and she wanted one of her own). It's really nice for me to make things for her again. She has been having treatment for a recurring brain tumour, which she has had since she was 4, and hasn't really had the energy to ask for anything. Now a year on from her two year course she is really starting to get back to her old girly self (just in time for her GCSE's lol)

Anyway this is also my entry for the Arty Girlz Challenge.

I Used:
K&Co paper
Bind It All
Maggie & Patch Stamp from Bootiful Stampz
Ribbons from local shop
Prima Flower with a Papermania Brad
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Spoilt...moi?

The postman paid me a visit today at 12.45!!! I forgave him though as he had some parcels for me. One from Cutting Edge Crafts, two from Joanna Sheen and one from Sir Stampalot...yippee! I have been like a kid in a candy shop all afternoon and all my Christmas's came at once!

To top that off we bought Mario Kart for the Wii today, looks like a fab game. I came 11th and then 12th so I can't get any worse lol.

All That Glitters

This is my entry for the PTW challenge where you just need to add glitter.

I really dislike using glitter and I can never get a good photo so apologies for that (will try for another tomorrow in daylight) but you can just about make it out if you click on the picture. Funny though as last week I made a box for my glitter glues and now I've made a card using them. I don't think that I've used them for a year!
Walk through as the photo is poor:
Tilda has her wings and petticoat glittered. I added glittered dots around the scalloped rectangle. The letters are cut from glittered card and the backing is glittered...think that's enough glitter for now lol!

I Used:
DCWV - Glitter Stack
DCWV - Cardstock
Glittered cardstock from a local shop
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Prima Flowers
Papermania Brads
Fun Serif Sizzix Die
Nestabilities

Updated picture which is slightly better.

Tomorrow is an important day!

It's my little one's tenth birthday and we have a busy day.

Georgie wanted clothes for her present, so Hubby and I took her shopping today. It seems a little odd that she knows what she's getting for her Birthday already but we thought it best to take her with us. She's a real girly girl (but one who likes playing with snails in her best dresses!) and growing up so quickly that we'd have probably bought items she didn't like.

No party tomorrow, we're taking her and five of her friends to see High School Musical on stage on Friday (Hubby & I are dreading it, not much street cred for two hard core Metallers lol)

We have Grandad down for lunch and then we're all off out to Arundel WWT for the afternoon, hopefully the weather will be kind.

This is Georgie's card which I made a while ago (note to self "close blog before going to bed so she doesn't spot it"). Guess I'm going to be behind with the Tilda & co challenge this week but I don't suppose one day will make much difference.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #5

This week over at CCT the theme is "Things with wings".

How lucky was I that the postman turned up with my new Maggies from Bootiful Stampz? This is Pixie, she is so adorable and dead cute too! I just couldn't resist using her for this weeks challenge. I have covered her holly as I didn't really want to make a christmas card today (it is wonderfully sunny here today).

I used:
Paper - Basic Grey
Cardstock - DCWV
Flowers - Prima
Brads & Gem - Papermania

It drew blood.

This weeks PTW challenge is to create a box from two sheets of card. I'm not quite sure where I went wrong with the measurements but mine looks nothing like the examples by the DT!!! Oh well, it is a box and I did use the measurement given so please excuse the "odd" shape.
Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong and I even pricked my finger with one of the needles from the BIA kit (it's a huge needle!), and please also excuse the blood on the lid! Good job I was making this for me and not as a gift.
Anyways, I am using this to store the glitter glues that I never use. I couldn't decide which way round it would sit on my shelf so I made two labels, just to be on the safe side lol. I went for a hinged lid for ease of access and knowing me I would only go and lose the lid if it wasn't attached!
I used:
Paper - Laura Ashley - Dovecraft (again!)
Bookplates - Thick Cuts die
Cardstock - Papermill
Brads - Papermania
Ribbon - Local craft shop

A Quick Make

I have been making a few quick cards today just to try and stock up a little. I love having ready made cards at the ready for all those unexpected or forgotten events.

I like cards without sentiments. It makes them very flexible, sometimes there is no occassion, just a quick letter to write or a note of thanks.

My Dad loves to receive cards and keeps them all out in the house (or perhaps he gets them all out when we go to stay lol).

I used:
Paper - Laura Ashley
Cardstock - Papermill
Stamp - Penny Black

Tilda & Co 14 Stitch Me Up.

We would love to see your work involve Stitches!!! ,

Whatever your stitching is try to make sure it is the main focus of the work to get the Stitching Point across."
This is my entry. I have hand sewn the buttons and flowers. I used faux stitching on the paper and cardstock.
I used:
Papers - Laura Ashley - Dovecraft
Cardstock - Papermill Shop
Flowers - Prima
Buttons & Brads - Poppicrafts

More snow, a small rant and last night's card.

An hour later...

The craft shop in Worthing has changed hands and everytime I go in there I'm overcharged, told that she hasn't any money to buy stock (the products I would like to see in stock apparently won't sell because her customers are "old fuddy-duddies") and scolded for "not" supporting my local craft shop (I payed Blade Rubber Stamps a visit whilst killing time in London and was stupid enough to mention it to her) so yesterday I hopped on the train to visit Harmony Crafts in Shoreham-by-sea. Diane, the owner was friendly but not pushy and has some amazing stock, things I want to buy, oh and I didn't get over-charged, in fact I picked up some Alchemy embossing powder at 50% retail! I also picked up the new Laura Ashley papers from Dovecraft, Tim Holtz Black Soot distressing ink and some Jolly Nation stamps (which are a little blocky in my opinion).

I bought this Toybox stamp in February on the aforementioned trip to London but have never used it. I decided to give it a go along with my new embossing powder last night. It looks stunning IRL but the photo doesn't capture this.

Hopefully I'll find some more time to play over the next week as the children are on their hols for a fortnight.

Look what we woke up to.

These are pictures of my Hubby and our youngest this morning. Georgie is so thrilled to see snow! We rarely get a good covering on the South Coast, and when we do the children are always at school. As soon as it started it was on with the coat and wellies and off she went! The rabbit and the guinea pigs are all nice and snug with fresh hay and hutch covers on.

A thought went out to my poor old Dad who is scrub clearing at his local park in Kent. He always gets a lot of snow and I can picture him now in a mini blizzard looking out over the Medway River wondering why he volunteered to tidy up the park!
